Ecozema continues to evolve: B Corp certified

An extraordinary goal, achieved thanks to the realization of a corporate philosophy focused on respect for the environment, the enhancement of people and the promotion of the circular economic model.
Through a sustainable business activity, Ecozema has been certified B Corp, adding an additional piece to its corporate development and continuing to pursue that common benefit that, last year, allowed it to become a Benefit Company.

What is a B Corp?
The B Corp is the certification issued to companies that meet high standards of performance verified by the B Lab certifying body, distinguishing itself for the responsibility and transparency of their activities. To be certified, a company must:

Demonstrate significant social and environmental performance, obtaining an B impact rating of 80 points or higher, then passing a further review by the B Lab certification body;
make a legal commitment, possibly by changing its corporate structure, so that it is accountable to all interested parties (not only any shareholders and shareholders) and obtain the status of Benefit Company;
Be transparent, allowing the publication of information on performance measured against standards required by the certification authority in the B Corp profile.

Becoming B Corp, Ecozema has become part of an international movement that currently counts more than 5000 companies in 156 sectors in 83 countries around the world, with the aim of spreading a more evolved business paradigm that does not only focus on profit, but also aims to meet the environmental needs of the planet and those of the community. In addition, being a B Corp means striving for continuous improvement; once certified, the certification body every three years, will submit the company to a review process to assess whether it has maintained the standards necessary for B Corp to maintain its status.
This monitoring is intended to encourage certified companies to maintain high standards in order not to lose their acquired status.

“The path to obtaining certification – comments the President of Ecozema, Antonio Munarini – has been long and challenging. Becoming a B Corp is a great satisfaction for our entire company, confirming the excellent work done not only in respect of the environment, but also of the economic and social standards required to achieve this goal”.

“We have always worked to promote sustainable development – continues the CEO of Ecozema, Armido Marana – and our corporate choices prove it. The B Corp certification represents, for us, a further but fundamental “piece” to complete that “mosaic” which, enhancing the circular economy and advocating an ethical approach also from a financial point of view, represents our model of entrepreneurship: Responsible, transparent and focused on the pursuit of common benefit”.

Based on the B Impact assessment, Ecozema achieved an overall score of 82.4 points, obtaining the B Corp certification. The average score for ordinary companies completing the assessment is currently 50.9 points.
